Rt. Rev. Campbell Richard Hone was born on 13 September 1873 at Manchester, Lancashire, England.2 He was the son of Reverend Evelyn Joseph Hone and Constance Jane Monro.2 He married Emily Maude Weaver, daughter of Frederick Poynton Weaver and Mary Berry Wright, on 1 January 1914 at Hampstead, London, England.4 He died on 16 May 1967 at age 93.2
He was educated at Blackheath High School, Blackheath, London, EnglandG.4 He graduated from Wadham College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1896 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)4 He was Curate between 1898 and 1902 at Holy Trinity, Habergham Eaves, Lancashire, England.4 He was Domestic Chaplain to the Bishop of Wakefield between 1902 and 1905.4 He graduated from Wadham College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1903 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)4 He was Vicar between 1909 and 1916 at Mount Pellon, Yorkshire, England.4 He was Vicar between 1916 and 1920 at Brighouse, Yorkshire, EnglandG.4 He held the office of Hon. Canon of Wakefield between 1917 and 1920.4 He was Rector between 1920 and 1930 at Whitby, Yorkshire, England.4 He held the office of Prebendary of Wistow between 1927 and 1930.4 He held the office of Archdeacon of Pontefract between 1930 and 1938.4 He held the office of Bishop Suffragan of Pontefract between 1931 and 1938.4 He graduated in 1938 with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)4 He held the office of Bishop of Wakefield between 1938 and 1945.4 He wrote the book The Life of Dr John Ratcliffe 1652-1714.4
