Sir Robert Hamilton Bruce Lockhart was born on 2 September 1887 at Anstruther, Fife, ScotlandG.2 He was the son of Robert Bruce Lockhart and Florence Stewart Macgregor.1,3 He married, firstly, Jean Haslewood Turner, daughter of Leonard Turner, in 1913.1 He and Jean Haslewood Turner were divorced in 1938.1 He married, secondly, Frances Mary Beck, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Edward Archibald Beck, in 1948.3 He died on 27 February 1970 at age 82 at Hove, Sussex, EnglandG.1,2
He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1943.1 He was an author, broadcaster, journalist and diplomat.1 He wrote the book Memoirs of a British Agent.1
