     John Taylor Winnington was born on 17 January 1814.¹ He was the son of Sir Thomas Edward Winnington, 3rd Bt. and Joanna Taylor.² He married Emma Prothero, daughter of Thomas Prothero and Mary Collins, on 27 October 1842.¹ He died on 12 May 1844 at age 30.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 3rd York Militia.¹

     Emma Prothero was the daughter of Thomas Prothero and Mary Collins.¹ She married, secondly, Captain Henry Barre Phipps.¹ She married, firstly, John Taylor Winnington, son of Sir Thomas Edward Winnington, 3rd Bt. and Joanna Taylor, on 27 October 1842.¹ She died on 6 February 1901.¹
     Her married name became Phipps.¹ From 27 October 1842, her married name became Winnington.

     John Taylor Winnington was born in August 1843.¹ He was the son of John Taylor Winnington and Emma Prothero.² He married Rose Sartorius, daughter of Admiral Sir George Rose Sartorius and Sophia Lamb, on 29 April 1875.¹ He died in 1877.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 1st Dragoons.¹

     Rose Sartorius was the daughter of Admiral Sir George Rose Sartorius and Sophia Lamb.¹ She married, firstly, John Taylor Winnington, son of John Taylor Winnington and Emma Prothero, on 29 April 1875.¹ She married, secondly, Major Herbert Winnington Domvile, son of Henry Barry Domvile and Frances Winnington-Ingram, on 23 September 1880.¹ She died on 14 October 1905.¹
     From 29 April 1875, her married name became Winnington. From 23 September 1880, her married name became Domvile.¹

     John Francis Sartorius Winnington was born on 17 September 1876.¹ He was the son of John Taylor Winnington and Rose Sartorius.² He married Joyce Mary Marriage, daughter of David Marriage, on 20 July 1910.¹ He died on 22 September 1918 at age 42, from wounds received in action.¹
     He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1900.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)¹ He gained the rank of Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel in the Worcestershire Regiment.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He was Assistant Inspector of Recruiting in 1917.¹
