Brig.-Gen. Montgomery Lancelot Carleton1 
He fought in the Hazara Campaign in 1888.2 He fought in the Hazara Campaign in 1891.2 He fought in the Uganda Campaign in 1898, where he was mentioned in despatches.2 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.2 He retired from the military in 1918, with the rank of Brigadier-General, late of the Royal Artillery.2 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1919.2
