     Hon. John Montagu William North was born on 28 February 1905.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Frederick George North, 8th Earl of Guilford and Mary Violet Pawson.² He married, firstly, Muriel Norton Hicking, daughter of Sir William Norton Hicking, 1st Bt. and Mabel Eking, on 30 April 1927.¹ He and Muriel Norton Hicking were divorced in 1939.¹ He married, secondly, Marion Dyer Chase, daughter of Frank Irving Chase, on 23 June 1939.¹ He and Marion Dyer Chase were divorced in 1949.¹ He married, thirdly, Polleen Wheatland Peabody, daughter of Richard Rogers Peabody and Mary Phelps Jacobs, in 1951.¹ He married, fourthly, Wendy Alexandra Peters, daughter of Francis Robert Peters, in 1961.¹ He and Polleen Wheatland Peabody were divorced in 1960.¹ He died in 1987.¹
     He was educated at Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, Devon, England^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Naval College, Osborne, Isle of Wight, England^G.¹ He was an engineer.¹

     Sir William Norton Hicking, 1st Bt. was born on 12 December 1864.² He was the son of George Hicking and Sarah Norton Hustwayte.² He married Mabel Eking, daughter of William George Eking, on 10 July 1890.² He died on 18 April 1947 at age 82.²
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Nottinghamshire.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Nottinghamshire.² He held the office of High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire in 1913.² He was created 1st Baronet Hicking, of Southwell and Brackenhurst, co. Nottingham [U.K.] on 5 July 1917.² He was created 1st Baronet Hicking, of Southwell and Brackenhurst, co. Nottingham [U.K.] on 1 March 1920, with a special remainder to the to the heirs male of his daughters successively.² On his death his 1917 baronetcy became extinct.²

     Muriel Norton Hicking was the daughter of Sir William Norton Hicking, 1st Bt. and Mabel Eking.² She married Hon. John Montagu William North, son of Lt.-Col. Frederick George North, 8th Earl of Guilford and Mary Violet Pawson, on 30 April 1927.¹ She and Hon. John Montagu William North were divorced in 1939.¹ She died in 1989.¹
     From 30 April 1927, her married name became North.

     Mary Bowes was born circa 1777.¹ She was the daughter of Andrew Robinson Stoney-Bowes and Mary Eleanor Bowes.¹ She died on 26 December 1855.¹ She was buried at Bath Abbey Cemetery, Bath, Somerset, England^G.¹
