     James Boyle is the son of David Boyle and Katharine Boyd.¹ He married, firstly, Margaret Crawfurd, daughter of John Crawfurd of Bedland, younger.¹ He married, secondly, Jean Barclay, daughter of Gavin Barclay, on 22 August 1622.¹
     He also had two daughters.¹ He was a merchant and shipowner at Largs, Ayrshire, Scotland^G.¹ He lived at Halkishurst, Largs, Ayrshire, Scotland^G.¹ His marriage to Jean Barclay was annulled in 1632.¹

     Margaret Crawfurd is the daughter of John Crawfurd of Bedland, younger.¹ She married James Boyle, son of David Boyle and Katharine Boyd.¹
     Her married name became Boyle.¹
