Charles Vereker, 2nd Viscount Gort1 
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Limerick between 1794 and 1800.1 On 5 September 1798 he defeated French forces under General Humbert at Killala Bay, County Sligo, near Coloony.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Limerick between 1802 and 1817.1 He held the office of Lord of Treasury between 1807 and 1812.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] in 1809.1 He held the office of Constable of Limerick Castle between 1809 and 1842.1 He held the office of Governor of County Galway between 1814 and 1831.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Kiltarton of Gort, co. Galway [I., 1810] on 23 May 1817.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Gort, co. Galway [I., 1816] on 23 May 1817.1 He was appointed Representative Peer [Ireland] between 1823 and 1842.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1834.1
