     He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the Coldstream Guards.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (D.F.C.)1 He retired from the military, with the rank of Flight Lieutenant, late of the Royal Air Force.1

     Jean Violet Stewart was born on 25 March 1909.1 She was the daughter of Captain Geoffrey Stewart and Violet Cuninghame Watson.2 She married Maj.-Gen. Michael Whitworth Prynne, son of Lt.-Col. Alan Harvey Lockyer Prynne, on 1 June 1940.1 She died on 27 September 1977 at age 68, killed in a car crash with her husband.1
     She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 From 1 June 1940, her married name became Prynne.

     He graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He gained the rank of Major-General in the Royal Engineers.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1 He lived at Bramley, Surrey, EnglandG.1
