Elspeth Mariot Ironside was born on 8 January 1917.¹ She was the daughter of Field Marshal William Edmund Ironside, 1st Baron Ironside and Mariot Ysobel Cheyne.¹ She married Andrew Gilbert Hendry, son of Andrew Hendry, on 15 February 1941.¹ She died on 9 November 2013 at age 96 at Haddington, East Lothian, Scotland.²
