     Richard Townsend Becher Orpen is the son of Edward Henry Orpen and Frances Everina Heatley.¹

     Brampton Gurdon was born on 25 September 1797.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Theophilus Thornhagh Gurdon and Anne Mellish.² He married Hon. Henrietta Susannah Ridley-Colborne, daughter of Nicholas William Ridley-Colborne, 1st and last Baron Colborne of West Harling and Charlotte Steele, on 12 August 1828.¹ He died on 28 April 1881 at age 83.¹
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Norfolk.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Norfolk.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for West Norfolk.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Norfolk in 1855.¹ He lived at Grundisburgh, Suffolk, England^G.¹ He lived at Letton, Norfolk, England^G.¹

     Mary Anne Orpen was born circa 1820.¹ She was the daughter of Captain Henry Richard Orpen and Letitia Becher.¹

     Hon. Henrietta Susannah Ridley-Colborne was the daughter of Nicholas William Ridley-Colborne, 1st and last Baron Colborne of West Harling and Charlotte Steele.² She married Brampton Gurdon, son of Lt.-Col. Theophilus Thornhagh Gurdon and Anne Mellish, on 12 August 1828.¹ She died on 28 May 1880.¹
     From 12 August 1828, her married name became Gurdon.

     Henry Orpen was born circa 1820.¹ He was the son of Captain Henry Richard Orpen and Letitia Becher.¹ He married Rachel Harman on 27 December 1849.¹ He died in 1890.¹
     He had three other children.¹

     Rt. Hon. Sir William Brampton Gurdon was born on 5 September 1840.¹ He was the son of Brampton Gurdon and Hon. Henrietta Susannah Ridley-Colborne.² He married Lady Eveline Camilla Wallop, daughter of Isaac Newton Wallop, 5th Earl of Portsmouth and Lady Eveline Alicia Juliana Herbert, on 20 September 1887.¹ He died on 31 May 1910 at age 69, without issue.¹
     He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.)¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for North Norfolk between 1899 and 1910.¹ He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Suffolk in 1907.¹ He lived at Assington Hall, Suffolk, England^G.¹

     Rachel Harman married Henry Orpen, son of Captain Henry Richard Orpen and Letitia Becher, on 27 December 1849.¹
     From 27 December 1849, her married name became Orpen.¹

     Lady Eveline Camilla Wallop was the daughter of Isaac Newton Wallop, 5th Earl of Portsmouth and Lady Eveline Alicia Juliana Herbert.² She married Rt. Hon. Sir William Brampton Gurdon, son of Brampton Gurdon and Hon. Henrietta Susannah Ridley-Colborne, on 20 September 1887.¹ She died on 13 September 1894, without issue.¹
     From 20 September 1887, her married name became Gurdon.

     Charlotte Gurdon was the daughter of Brampton Gurdon and Hon. Henrietta Susannah Ridley-Colborne.² She married Horace Broke, son of Lt.-Gen. Horatio George Broke, on 8 May 1860.¹ She died on 11 January 1868.¹
     From 8 May 1860, her married name became Broke.

     Horace Broke is the son of Lt.-Gen. Horatio George Broke.¹ He married Charlotte Gurdon, daughter of Brampton Gurdon and Hon. Henrietta Susannah Ridley-Colborne, on 8 May 1860.¹
     He lived at Gladwyns Harlow.²
