     He gained the rank of Captain in the 8th Madras Light Cavalry.1

Frances Anne Shirley1

     Frances Anne Shirley was born on 6 May 1770 at Bath, Somerset, England.1,2 She was the daughter of Rev. Hon. Walter Shirley and Henrietta Maria Phillips.3 She married Reverend John Going, son of Richard Going and Anne White, on 18 February 1789.1,2 She died in 1852 at Blackrock, County Dublin, Ireland.1,2
     From 18 February 1789, her married name became Going.

Reverend John Going1

     Reverend John Going was born on 3 July 1766 at Crannah House, Birdhill, County Tipperary, Ireland.1,2 He was the son of Richard Going and Anne White.2 He married Frances Anne Shirley, daughter of Rev. Hon. Walter Shirley and Henrietta Maria Phillips, on 18 February 1789.1,2 He died on 23 October 1829 at age 63 at Mealiffe Rectory, County Tipperary, Ireland, shot and murdered.1,2
     He was the Rector at Mealiffe, County Tipperary, IrelandG.3
