George Gideon Oliver Osborne was born on 23 May 1971.3 He is the son of Sir Peter George Osborne, 17th Bt. and Felicity Alexandra Loxton-Peacock.1,3 He married Hon. Frances Victoria Howell, daughter of David Arthur Russell Howell, Baron Howell of Guildford and Cary Davina Wallace, on 4 April 1998.1 He and Hon. Frances Victoria Howell were divorced in 2019.4
He was given the name of Gideon Osborne at birth.3 He graduated from Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Tatton between 2001 and 2017.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 2010.5 He held the office of Chancellor of the Exchequer between 2010 and 2016.6 He was appointed Companion of Honour (C.H.) in 2016. He was editor of the London Evening Standard in 2017.
