     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Welsh Guards.¹ He was Temporary Equerry to HRH The Duke of Edinburgh between 1973 and 1976.¹ He was appointed Member, Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.) in 1977.¹
