Edmond Butler1 
Circa 1577 he succeeded his grandfather in Grallagh, but after protracted legal proceedings exchanged it for Boytonrath.1 In 1579 he was a minor when his wardship was in the hands of 10th Earl of Ormonde.1 In 1599/0 he took part in the O’Neill RebellIon.1 On 11 April 1600 he was pardoned.1 On 27 March 1626 he conveyed one quarter of his estates to trustees for use of his grandson Edmond by family settlement.1
