John Andrews1 
He lived at Comber, County Down, IrelandG.1 He was in 1745 in the service of the Belfast Volunteers, garrisoning at Carrickfergus Castle, Carrickfergus, County Antrim, IrelandG.1 He built a residence at Comber, County Down, IrelandG, later known as ‘The Old House.1‘ He gained the rank of Officer in 1760 in the County Down Foot Regiment.1 He was the organizer and Commanding Officer of a Volunteer Company between 1779 and 1788.1 He purchased the townland of Carnesure, Comber, County Down, IrelandG, 1783.1 He was a linen-bleacher, miller, soapboiler, chandler, and farmer, he had built a bleach-mill and a flour mill.1
