     Reverend Joseph Rogerson Cotter was born on 9 June 1822.¹ He was the son of Reverend Joseph Rogerson Cotter and Mary Purcell.² He married, firstly, Philadelphia Louisa Hall, daughter of Thomas Hall, on 29 January 1850.¹ He married, secondly, Frances Green, daughter of Hugh Green, on 8 December 1899.¹ He died on 7 January 1900 at age 77.¹
     He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He was the Rector at St. Mary Magdalene, Colchester, Essex, England^G.¹

     Thomas Hall lived at Harpsden Court, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹

     Philadelphia Louisa Hall was the daughter of Thomas Hall.² She married Reverend Joseph Rogerson Cotter, son of Reverend Joseph Rogerson Cotter and Mary Purcell, on 29 January 1850.¹ She died in 1897.¹
     From 29 January 1850, her married name became Cotter.

     Mary Elizabeth Cotter was the daughter of Reverend Joseph Rogerson Cotter and Philadelphia Louisa Hall.² She married Marcus Seton Blackden, son of John Chalfont Blackden, on 4 November 1884.¹ She died in May 1904.¹
     From 4 November 1884, her married name became Blackden.

     John Chalfont Blackden married Isabella Worsley.²

     Marcus Seton Blackden was the son of John Chalfont Blackden.² He married Mary Elizabeth Cotter, daughter of Reverend Joseph Rogerson Cotter and Philadelphia Louisa Hall, on 4 November 1884.¹ He died on 16 June 1916.¹

     Katherine Louisa Cotter was the daughter of Reverend Joseph Rogerson Cotter and Philadelphia Louisa Hall.² She died on 3 October 1913, unmarried.¹

     Grace Cotter was the daughter of Reverend Joseph Rogerson Cotter and Philadelphia Louisa Hall.² She died on 31 July 1934, unmarried.¹

     William Bromilow was a colliery proprietor.² He lived at Haresfinch House, St. Helens, Lancashire, England^G.¹

     Hugh Green lived at Newton Hall, Suffolk, England^G.¹
