     Sir John de Lumley was born on 2 February 1382/83.1 He was the son of Ralph de Lumley, 1st and last Lord Lumley and Eleanor de Neville.1 He married Felicia Redman, daughter of Sir Matthew Redman.1 He died on 22 March 1421 at age 38, killed in action.1
     He was appointed Knight before 1400.1 In 1411 he was restored as to the name and right to inherit his father’s and elder brother’s possesion, but not to the title.1 He fought in the Battle of Beaugé on 22 March 1421.1

     He held the office of Warden of the Middle Marches.1 He fought in the Battle of Ancrum Moor on 6 March 1544/45.1
