     Colonel James Leslie Alexander was born on 1 March 1868 at Ireland.^1,2 He was the son of George Alexander and Susan Henn Collins.¹ He married Emily Shakespear Low, daughter of General Sir Robert Cunliffe Low, V.C. and Constance Taylor, on 17 October 1903 at Poona, Bombay, India.^1,2 He died on 19 December 1913 at age 45 at Kensington, London, England.^2,3
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the Indian Army.¹

     Emily Shakespear Low was born on 22 November 1879 at Rawalpindi, Bengal, India.² She was the daughter of General Sir Robert Cunliffe Low, V.C. and Constance Taylor.^1,2 She married, firstly, Colonel James Leslie Alexander, son of George Alexander and Susan Henn Collins, on 17 October 1903 at Poona, Bombay, India.^1,2 She married, secondly, Major Andrew Herbert Caldecott, son of Andrew Edgar Caldecott, on 6 October 1914.¹ She died on 24 November 1939 at age 60 at The Tower House, Woodchester, Gloucestershire, England.^1,2
     From 17 October 1903, her married name became Alexander.¹ From 6 October 1914, her married name became Caldecott.¹

     Major Andrew Herbert Caldecott was born in 1884 at Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary, Ireland.² He was the son of Andrew Edgar Caldecott.² He married Emily Shakespear Low, daughter of General Sir Robert Cunliffe Low, V.C. and Constance Taylor, on 6 October 1914.¹ He died on 11 April 1930 at Sheerness, Kent, England.²
     He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)² He gained the rank of Major in the 18th Royal Irish Regiment.²

     General Sir Robert Cunliffe Low, V.C. was born on 28 January 1838 at Lucknow, India.² He was the son of General Sir John Low and Augusta Ludlow Shakespear.² He married Constance Taylor on 24 April 1862 at Simla, Bengal, India.² He died on 4 August 1911 at age 73.²
     He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Star of India (K.C.S.I.)¹ He was awarded the Victoria Cross (V.C.)¹

     Robert Andrew James Alexander was born on 14 April 1905.¹ He was the son of Colonel James Leslie Alexander and Emily Shakespear Low.¹ He died on 15 June 1906 at age 1.¹

     Lt.-Col. Charles Low Alexander was born on 17 April 1907.¹ He was the son of Colonel James Leslie Alexander and Emily Shakespear Low.¹ He married Vera Ethel Hamilton-Holmes on 13 November 1935 at Battle, Sussex, England^G.^1,2 He and Vera Ethel Hamilton-Holmes were divorced in 1946.¹ He married Vivien Eardley (?) on 30 August 1946.¹ He died on 11 September 1968 at age 61.¹
     He retired from the military in 1948, with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, late of the Indian Army, formerly with the 1st Battalion Cheshire Regiment.¹

     Vera Ethel Hamilton-Holmes married Lt.-Col. Charles Low Alexander, son of Colonel James Leslie Alexander and Emily Shakespear Low, on 13 November 1935 at Battle, Sussex, England^G.^1,2 She and Lt.-Col. Charles Low Alexander were divorced in 1946.¹
     From 13 November 1935, her married name became Alexander.¹

     Charles Mitchell Alexander was born on 15 January 1937.¹ He is the son of Lt.-Col. Charles Low Alexander and Vera Ethel Hamilton-Holmes.¹

     Vivien Eardley (?) married Lt.-Col. Charles Low Alexander, son of Colonel James Leslie Alexander and Emily Shakespear Low, on 30 August 1946.¹
     From 30 August 1946, her married name became Alexander.¹
