     He retired from the military in 1948, with the rank of Major, late of the 19th Hyderabad Regiment of the Indian Army.¹ He was the Assistant Military Adviser to the Kumaon Rifles.¹

     Norah (?) married Major David Alexander, son of Colonel James Leslie Alexander and Emily Shakespear Low, on 29 January 1942.¹
     From 29 January 1942, her married name became Alexander.¹

     David Andrew Low Alexander was born on 4 December 1948.¹ He is the son of Major David Alexander and Norah (?)¹

     Colonel Walter Lorenzo Alexander was born on 8 September 1872.¹ He was the son of George Alexander and Susan Henn Collins.¹ He married Alice Mabel Tweedie, daughter of Colonel Maurice Tweedie, on 17 February 1902.¹ He died on 15 May 1915 at age 42 at Festubert, Pas-de-Calais, France^G, killed in action.¹
     He was educated at Denstone College, Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the Tirah Expedition between 1897 and 1898, he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He fought in the Boer War, mentioned in despatches.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He was the Commanding Officer of the 2nd Battalion Green Howards in 1914.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the Yorkshire Regiment.¹ He fought in the Battle of Festubert on 15 May 1915 at Festubert, Pas-de-Calais, France^G.¹

     Alice Mabel Tweedie is the daughter of Colonel Maurice Tweedie.¹ She married, firstly, Colonel Walter Lorenzo Alexander, son of George Alexander and Susan Henn Collins, on 17 February 1902.¹ She married, secondly, Herbert Cyril Coaks, son of Herbert Coaks, on 1 February 1927.¹
     From 17 February 1902, her married name became Alexander.¹ From 1 February 1927, her married name became Coaks.¹ As of 1976, Alice Mabel Tweedie lived at Flatropers, Beckley, Rye, Sussex, England^G.¹

     Herbert Cyril Coaks was the son of Herbert Coaks.¹ He married Alice Mabel Tweedie, daughter of Colonel Maurice Tweedie, on 1 February 1927.¹

     Henry Carmichael Alexander was born on 18 April 1905.¹ He is the son of Colonel Walter Lorenzo Alexander and Alice Mabel Tweedie.¹ He married, firstly, Adelaide Margery Dora Bankes, daughter of Captain Edward Nugent Bankes, on 28 April 1935.¹ He married, secondly, Hazel Beall, daughter of Howard E. Beall, on 21 February 1953.¹
