     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the Boer War.¹ He fought in the First World War, he was twice mentioned in despatches.¹ He was appointed Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1915 and bar.¹ He fought in the 3rd Afghan War.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Connaught Rangers.¹ He was the last Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion, before the regiment was disbanded in 1922.¹ He retired from the military in 1923.¹

     Kathleen Marguerite Hilliard is the daughter of Lt.-Col. Harold Nash Hilliard.¹ She married Lt.-Col. William Nathaniel Stuart Alexander, son of Nathaniel Stuart Alexander and Dora Currie, on 4 August 1914.¹
     From 4 August 1914, her married name became Alexander.¹ As of 1976, Kathleen Marguerite Hilliard lived at Winton Lodge, 97 Lower Gordon Road, Camberley, Surrey, England^G.¹

     Lt.-Col. Harold Nash Hilliard gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Indian Army.¹

     Major-Gen. Edward Currie Alexander was born on 15 September 1875.¹ He was the son of Nathaniel Stuart Alexander and Dora Currie.¹ He married Isabella Katherine Stoney, daughter of Major George Ormond Stoney and Meylia Laing, on 4 June 1914.¹ He died on 21 March 1964 at age 88.¹
     He was educated at Clifton College, Clifton, Bristol, England^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He was commissioned in 1895, in the service of the Dorset Regiment.¹ He fought in the Tirah Expedition between 1897 and 1898.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1898 in the Indian Army.¹ He fought in the Mahsud Waziri operations between 1901 and 1902, mentioned in despatches.¹ He was appointed Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1902.¹ He fought in the Mohmand Field Force in 1908.¹ He fought in the First World War, as a General Staff Officer (G.S.O.) He was mentioned in despatches four times.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.) in 1919.¹ He was the Assistant Adjutant (A.A.) and Quartermaster General (Q.M.G.) between 1921 and 1924 in the Lahore District, India^G, which is now part of Pakistan.¹ He was Colonel Commandant of the 14th Indian Infantry Brigade between 1924 and 1928.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1928.¹ He gained the rank of Major-General.¹ He was Deputy Adjutant and Quartermaster General (Q.M.G.) of the Southern Command India between 1930 and 1945.¹ He retired from the military in 1934.¹

     Isabella Katherine Stoney is the daughter of Major George Ormond Stoney and Meylia Laing.^1,2 She married Major-Gen. Edward Currie Alexander, son of Nathaniel Stuart Alexander and Dora Currie, on 4 June 1914.¹
     From 4 June 1914, her married name became Alexander.¹ As of 1976, Isabella Katherine Stoney lived at Old Pollard Moor, Cadnam, Southampton, Hampshire, England^G.¹

     Major George Ormond Stoney was the son of Maj.-Gen. George Butler Stoney and Sarah Howard Ormond.² He married Meylia Laing, daughter of Patrick Sinclair Laing, on 27 September 1876.² He died in 1890.²
     He gained the rank of Major in the King’s Own Scottish Borderers.¹

     Catherine Bethea Alexander was born on 3 September 1922.¹ She is the daughter of Major-Gen. Edward Currie Alexander and Isabella Katherine Stoney.¹ She married Captain Richard Hazell, son of Samuel Hill Hazell, on 16 March 1946.¹
     From 16 March 1946, her married name became Hazell.¹

     Captain Richard Hazell is the son of Samuel Hill Hazell.¹ He married Catherine Bethea Alexander, daughter of Major-Gen. Edward Currie Alexander and Isabella Katherine Stoney, on 16 March 1946.¹
