     He lived at Kirkbryde, Dumfries-shire, Scotland^G.¹

     Janet Glendinning was born before 1440 at Parton, Scotland^G.¹ She was the daughter of John Glendinning and Elizabeth Sinclair.¹ She married Gilbert Grierson, son of Gilbert Grierson, 2nd of Lag and Isabel Kirkpatrick.¹ She died after 1481.¹
     Her married name became Grierson.¹

     John Adam Alexander was born in 1843.¹ He was the son of Reverend Samuel Alexander and Charlotte Frances Beresford.¹ He married Edith Margaret Reeves, daughter of Edward S. S. Reeves, on 15 December 1875, without issue.¹ He died in 1907.¹
     He lived at Caw, County Londonderry, Ireland^G.¹

     Edith Margaret Reeves was the daughter of Edward S. S. Reeves.¹ She married John Adam Alexander, son of Reverend Samuel Alexander and Charlotte Frances Beresford, on 15 December 1875, without issue.¹
     From 15 December 1875, her married name became Alexander.¹

     Edward S. S. Reeves lived at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G.¹

     Colonel Charles Murray Alexander was born between 29 September 1845 and 29 September 1846.¹ He was the son of Reverend Samuel Alexander and Charlotte Frances Beresford.¹ He married Mary Anna Catherine Lowry, daughter of Robert William Lowry, on 25 April 1888.¹ He died on 30 July 1902.¹
     He was educated at Royal School, Dungannon, Ireland^G.¹ He lived at Termon, Carrickmore, County Tyrone, Ireland^G.¹ He lived at Enagh, County Londonderry, Ireland^G.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the 4th Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹

     Lt.-Col. Henry George Samuel Alexander was born on 12 April 1848.¹ He was the son of Reverend Samuel Alexander and Charlotte Frances Beresford.¹ He married Elizabeth Collie Phoebe Webb, daughter of Edward B. Webb, on 16 February 1878.¹ He died on 22 November 1931 at age 83.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 4th Battalion, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers.¹ He lived at Carrickmore House, County Tyrone, Ireland^G.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹

     Elizabeth Collie Phoebe Webb was the daughter of Edward B. Webb.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Henry George Samuel Alexander, son of Reverend Samuel Alexander and Charlotte Frances Beresford, on 16 February 1878.¹ She died on 5 October 1913, age 46.¹
     From 16 February 1878, her married name became Alexander.¹
