Sir Andrew Fielding Huxley was born on 22 November 1917 at Hampstead, London, EnglandG.2 He was the son of Leonard Huxley and Rosalind Bruce.2,1 He married Jocelyn Richenda Gammell Pease, daughter of Michael Stewart Pease and Hon. Helen Bowen Wedgwood, on 5 July 1947.1 He died on 30 May 2012 at age 94.3
He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)1 He was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1963 in Physiology or Medicine, for his work on nerve impluses.2 He held the office of President of the Royal Society between 1980 and 1985.2 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)2 He was awarded the Order of Merit (O.M.)2
