     John Newton is the son of Sir John Newton and Margaret Poyntz.²

     Frances Newton was the daughter of John Newton.² She married Sir John Poyntz, son of Sir Nicholas Poyntz and Anne Verney.¹ She died circa October 1599.² She was buried on 1 November 1599.²
     Her married name became Poyntz.¹

     Nicholas Poyntz was born circa 1607.¹ He was the son of Sir John Poyntz and Grissell Roberts.² He married Eleanor Davis, daughter of Rice Davis, in 1638.¹ He died on 11 February 1650/51.¹
     He was educated at Magdalen Hall, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹

     Eleanor Davis is the daughter of Rice Davis.¹ She married Nicholas Poyntz, son of Sir John Poyntz and Grissell Roberts, in 1638.¹
     From 1638, her married name became Poyntz.¹

     Eleanor Poyntz is the daughter of Nicholas Poyntz and Eleanor Davis.² She married, firstly, Edmund Ashfield.¹ She married, secondly, Richard Glanville.¹
     Her married name became Ashfield.

     Edmund Ashfield married Eleanor Poyntz, daughter of Nicholas Poyntz and Eleanor Davis.¹

     Frances Poyntz was baptised on 3 April 1601.¹ She was the daughter of Sir John Poyntz and Grissell Roberts.²
     Her married name became Gifford.

     Walter Bethell was the son of Sir Walter Bethell and Maria Slingsby.² He married Mary Poyntz, daughter of Sir John Poyntz and Grissell Roberts.¹ He died on 1 November 1686.¹

     Ann Poyntz was baptised on 29 August 1602.¹ She was the daughter of Sir John Poyntz and Grissell Roberts.² She married Isaac Bromwich on 3 February 1628/29.¹
     From 3 February 1628/29, her married name became Bromwich.¹

     Isaac Bromwich married Ann Poyntz, daughter of Sir John Poyntz and Grissell Roberts, on 3 February 1628/29.¹
     He lived at Gloucester, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹
