Admiral John Colville, 9th Lord Colville of Culross1

     Admiral John Colville, 9th Lord Colville of Culross was born on 15 March 1768.1 He was the son of John Colville, 8th Lord Colville of Culross and Amelia Webber.2 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Ford, daughter of Francis Ford and Elizabeth Hothersall, on 14 October 1790.1 He married, secondly, Hon. Anne Law, daughter of Edward Law, 1st Baron Ellenborough and Anne Towry, on 15 October 1841.1 He died on 22 October 1849 at age 81.1
     He succeeded as the 9th Lord Colville of Culross [S., 1604] on 8 March 1811.1 He held the office of Representative Peer [Scotland] between 1818 and 1849.1 He gained the rank of Admiral of the White.1
