He was given the name of Edwin Lawrence at birth.1 He graduated from London University, London, EnglandG, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He graduated from London University, London, EnglandG, with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)1 He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1867 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Berkshire.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Truro between 1895 and 1906.1 On 2 February 1898 his name was legally changed to Edwin Durning-Lawrence by Royal Licence.1 He was created 1st Baronet Durning-Lawrence, of King’s Ride, Ascot, co. Berks [U.K.] on 11 March 1898.1 On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.1
