     Lt.-Col. Sir John Ramsay was born on 5 December 1862.¹ He was the son of General Hon. Sir Henry Ramsay and Laura Lushington.¹ He married Margaret Henvey, daughter of Frederick Henvey, on 9 March 1889.¹ He died on 2 March 1942 at age 79.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Indian Army.¹ He was Political Resident of Baghdad between 1906 and 1909.¹ He was Political Resident of Kashmir between 1909 and 1911.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Star of India (C.S.I.) in 1911.¹ He was Chief Commissioner and Agent to the Governor-General of Baluchistan between 1911 and 1917.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Indian Empire (K.C.I.E.) in 1915.¹

     Margaret Henvey was the daughter of Frederick Henvey.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Sir John Ramsay, son of General Hon. Sir Henry Ramsay and Laura Lushington, on 9 March 1889.¹ She died on 2 January 1946.¹
     From 9 March 1889, her married name became Ramsay.¹ She was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1917.¹

     Frederick Henvey was with the Bengal Civil Service.¹

     Mary Isabel Ramsay was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir John Ramsay and Margaret Henvey.¹ She married Colonel Victor Wellesley Roche, son of Surgn.-Lt.-Col. Arthur Wellesley Roche and Louisa Mary Johnson, on 4 January 1916 at Quetta, Bengal, India.^1,2 She died on 11 December 1970.¹
     From 4 January 1916, her married name became Roche.¹

     Colonel Victor Wellesley Roche was born in 1889 at Melksham, Wiltshire, England.² He was the son of Surgn.-Lt.-Col. Arthur Wellesley Roche and Louisa Mary Johnson.¹ He married Mary Isabel Ramsay, daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir John Ramsay and Margaret Henvey, on 4 January 1916 at Quetta, Bengal, India.^1,2 He died on 18 December 1970.¹
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the Somerset Light Infantry.¹

     Surgn.-Lt.-Col. Arthur Wellesley Roche was born circa 1842.² He married Louisa Mary Johnson, daughter of Sir Henry Franks Frederic Johnson, 3rd Bt. and Emma Patty Barclay, on 5 July 1887.³ He died on 17 November 1897 at Elham, Kent, England.^3,2 He was buried on 20 November 1897 at Christ Church, Flokestone, Kent, England.²
     He gained the rank of Surgeon-Lieutenant-Commander in the Army Medical Service.³

     Mary Louisa Ramsay was born in 1852 at India^G.² She was the daughter of General Hon. Sir Henry Ramsay and Laura Lushington.¹ She married Colonel John Birney, son of John Birney, on 13 October 1870 at Almorah, Bengal, India^G.^1,2 She died on 3 July 1918 at Tonbridge, Kent, England^G.^1,2
     From 13 October 1870, her married name became Birney.¹

     Colonel John Birney was born in 1836 at Ireland^G.² He was the son of John Birney.² He married Mary Louisa Ramsay, daughter of General Hon. Sir Henry Ramsay and Laura Lushington, on 13 October 1870 at Almorah, Bengal, India^G.^1,2 He died on 14 October 1901 at Lambeth, London, England^G.^1,2
