William Browne de Montmorency, 5th Viscount Mountmorres was born on 21 April 1832.1 He was the son of Hervey de Montmorency, 4th Viscount Mountmorres and Sarah Shaw.1 He married Harriet Broadrick, daughter of George Broadrick and Jane Mudge Fletcher, on 12 November 1862.1 He died on 25 September 1880 at age 48 at Rusheed, Ballincode, County Galway, IrelandG, murdered during the Land War.1
He succeeded as the 13th Baronet Morres, of Knockagh, co. Tipperary [I., 1631] on 23 January 1872.2 He succeeded as the 5th Viscount Mountmorres [I., 1763] on 23 January 1872.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baron Mountmorres, of Castlemorres, co. Kilkenny [I., 1756] on 23 January 1872.1
