     P/O Kenneth Kirkcaldie was born circa 1912.² He was the son of Herbert Kirkcaldie.² He married Esme Mae Burcher, daughter of Albert Victor Kerry Burcher, before 1940.¹ He died on 8 June 1940, killed in action.²
     He fought in the Second World War.² He gained the rank of Pilot Officer in the 32 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.¹

     Esme Mae Burcher was the daughter of Albert Victor Kerry Burcher.² She married, firstly, P/O Kenneth Kirkcaldie, son of Herbert Kirkcaldie, before 1940.¹ She married, secondly, Ralph Francis Alnwick Grey, Baron Grey of Naunton, son of Francis Arthur Grey and Mary Wilkie Spence, in 1944.¹ She died on 22 March 1996.¹
     At University of New Zealand, New Zealand^G, Master of Laws (LL.M.)³ From before 1940, her married name became Kirkcaldie.¹ From 1944, her married name became Grey.¹ After her marriage, Esme Mae Burcher was styled as Baroness Grey of Naunton on 17 September 1968. She was appointed Dame of Grace, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (D.St.J.)¹

     Hon. Jolyon Kenneth Alnwick Grey was born in 1946.¹ He is the son of Ralph Francis Alnwick Grey, Baron Grey of Naunton and Esme Mae Burcher.² He married Sarah Jane Hood, daughter of Lt.-Col. Samuel Brian Digby Hood and Myrtle Baron, in 1971.¹
     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1968 entitled to practise as a barrister.¹ He lived in 1999 at Upper Swell Farm, Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹
