     He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)¹

     Philip Henry Davan Wetton was born on 21 September 1937.¹ He is the son of Eric Davan Wetton and Margaret Kathleen Valerie Edwards.² He married Roswitha Kortner in 1983.¹

     From 1983, her married name became Davan Wetton.

     Hilary John Davan Wetton was born on 23 December 1943.¹ He is the son of Eric Davan Wetton and Margaret Kathleen Valerie Edwards.² He married, firstly, Elizabeth Jane Tayler on 19 September 1964.¹ He married, secondly, Alison Mary Moncrieff Kelly, daughter of Professor Alexander Kelly, on 5 January 1989.¹

     Edward William Bootle-Wilbraham, 3rd Earl of Lathom was born on 16 May 1895.² He was the son of Edward George Bootle-Wilbraham, 2nd Earl of Lathom and Lady Wilma Pleydell-Bouverie.¹ He married Marie Xenia de Tunzelman, daughter of E. W. de Tunzelman, on 2 June 1927.¹ He died on 6 February 1930 at age 34, without issue.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Lathom, co. Lancaster [U.K., 1880] on 15 March 1910.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Baron Skelmersdale, of Skelmersdale, co. Lancaster [U.K., 1828] on 15 March 1910.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Lancashire Hussars.¹ He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1918.¹ He was Aide-de-Camp to the Governor of Bombay between 1916 and 1918.¹ On his death, his earldom became extinct.¹
