John Toler, 1st Earl of Norbury1 
He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.2 He was admitted to King’s Inn in 1770 entitled to practise as a barrister-at-law.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Tralee between 1776 and 1783.2 He was appointed King’s Counsel (K.C.) in 1781.2 He held the office of Bencher of Kings Inn in 1781.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Philipstown between 1783 and 1790.2 He held the office of Solicitor-General between 1789 and 1798.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Gorey/Newborough between 1790 and 1799.2 In 1792 he was challenged to a duel by James Napper Tandy (of the Unted Irishmen.)2 He held the office of Attorney-General between 1798 and 1799.2 He held the office of Chief Justice of the Court of Common Pleas between 1800 and 1827.2 He was created 1st Baron Norbury of Ballycrenode, co. Tipperary [Ireland] on 27 December 1800.2 He was created 1st Viscount Glandine, of Glandine, King’s County [Ireland] on 23 June 1827, with special remainder to his second son.2 He was created 1st Earl of Norbury [Ireland] on 23 June 1827, with special remainder to his second son.2
