     Barbara Mackenzie is the daughter of Sir John Mackenzie of Tarbat, 1st Bt. and Margaret Erskine.¹ She married Alexander Mackenzie, 7th of Gairloch, son of Kenneth Mackenzie, 6th of Gairloch and Anne Grant, circa 4 March 1670.¹

     Alexander Mackenzie, 7th of Gairloch was the son of Kenneth Mackenzie, 6th of Gairloch and Anne Grant.^2,3 He married Barbara Mackenzie, daughter of Sir John Mackenzie of Tarbat, 1st Bt. and Margaret Erskine, circa 4 March 1670.² He died in 1694.¹

     Sir Alexander Mackenzie of Gairloch, 2nd Bt. was the son of Sir Kenneth Mackenzie of Gairloch, 1st Bt. and Margaret Mackenzie.^1,2 He married Janet Mackenzie, daughter of Sir Roderick Mackenzie of Scatwell, 2nd Bt. and Janet Grant, in 1730.¹ He died on 9 June 1766.¹
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Mackenzie, of Gairloch [N.S., 1703] on 3 October 1704.¹

     Sir Kenneth Mackenzie of Gairloch, 1st Bt. was the son of Alexander Mackenzie, 7th of Gairloch and Barbara Mackenzie.¹ He married Margaret Mackenzie, daughter of Sir Roderick Mackenzie of Findon and Margaret Mackenzie, on 21 April 1696.¹ He died on 3 October 1704.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ross-shire in 1702.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Mackenzie, of Gairloch [Nova Scotia] on 22 February 1702/3.¹

     Sir Kenneth Mackenzie of Grandvale and Cromarty, 1st Bt. was born after 1656.¹ He was the son of George Mackenzie of Tarbat, 1st Earl of Cromarty and Anne Sinclair.¹ He married, firstly, Mary Kinnear, daughter of unknown Kinnear.¹ He married, secondly, Anne Campbell in 1701.¹ He married, thirdly, Elizabeth Edwards circa 14 January 1726.¹ He died on 13 September 1728.¹
     He was created 1st Baronet Mackenzie, of Cromarty and Grandvale [Nova Scotia] on 29 April 1704, a regrant of the 1628 creation, with a special remainder of his heirs male whatsoever.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cromarty between 1710 and 1713.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cromarty in 1727.¹

     Mary Kinnear is the daughter of unknown Kinnear.¹ She married Sir Kenneth Mackenzie of Grandvale and Cromarty, 1st Bt., son of George Mackenzie of Tarbat, 1st Earl of Cromarty and Anne Sinclair.¹
     Her married name became Mackenzie.¹

     David Kinnear of that Ilk is the son of unknown Kinnear.¹

     Anne Campbell married Sir Kenneth Mackenzie of Grandvale and Cromarty, 1st Bt., son of George Mackenzie of Tarbat, 1st Earl of Cromarty and Anne Sinclair, in 1701.¹
     From 1701, her married name became Mackenzie.¹

     Elizabeth Edwards married, firstly, Charles Graydon.¹ She married, secondly, Alexander Sutherland of Kinminitie.¹ She married, thirdly, Sir Kenneth Mackenzie of Grandvale and Cromarty, 1st Bt., son of George Mackenzie of Tarbat, 1st Earl of Cromarty and Anne Sinclair, circa 14 January 1726.¹
     Her married name became Sutherland.¹ Her married name became Graydon.¹ From circa 14 January 1726, her married name became Mackenzie.¹
