William Joseph Noble, 1st and last Baron Kirkley1 
He was a partner of Cairn, Noble and Company, ship owners.2 He was a director of Blackwell Colliery Company and of Furness Withy and Company.2 He was created 1st Baronet Noble [U.K.] on 24 June 1921.2 He was chairman of Cairn Line of Steamships.2 He was awarded the Knight, Order of St. Olav.2 He was created 1st Baron Kirkley, of Kirkley, co. Northumberland [U.K.] on 21 January 1930.1 On his death, his titles became extinct.2
