     Edward Robert Starkie Bence was the son of Henry Bence Sparrow Bence and Elizabeth Susanna Starkie.¹ He married Eliza Charlotte Albinia Sulivan, daughter of George James Sulivan and Mary Plomley Jenkins, on 30 July 1850 at St. Georges Hanover Square, Westminster, London, England^G.¹ He died on 24 February 1886 at Kentwell Hall, Long Melford, Suffolk, England^G.¹

     Thomas Starkie Bence was the son of Henry Bence Sparrow Bence and Elizabeth Susanna Starkie.¹ He married Elizabeth Frances Taylor, daughter of Robert Cuninghame Taylor, on 16 April 1857.¹ He died on 14 July 1858 at Oxford Terrace, Paddington, London, England^G.¹

     Marianne Katharine Starkie Bence was born on 2 November 1817 at Kelsale, Suffolk, England^G.¹ She was the daughter of Henry Bence Sparrow Bence and Elizabeth Susanna Starkie.¹ She died on 21 May 1833 at age 15 at Bracondale, Norfolk, England^G.¹

     Agnes Barclay was born circa 1828 at Westham, Essex, England^G.¹ She was the daughter of John Barclay.¹ She married Henry Alexander Starkie Bence, son of Henry Bence Sparrow Bence and Elizabeth Susanna Starkie, on 22 August 1850 at St. Georges Hanover Square, Westminster, London, England^G.¹

     Eliza Charlotte Albinia Sulivan is the daughter of George James Sulivan and Mary Plomley Jenkins.¹ She married Edward Robert Starkie Bence, son of Henry Bence Sparrow Bence and Elizabeth Susanna Starkie, on 30 July 1850 at St. Georges Hanover Square, Westminster, London, England^G.¹

     Captain Edward Joseph Calveley Hordern was born on 24 July 1867.¹ He was the son of Reverend Joseph Calveley Hordern and Charlotte Anne Partridge.¹ He married Margaret Emily Murray, daughter of Edward Francis Murray, in 1903.¹ He died circa 1945.¹
     He was educated at Bury Grammar School, Bury, Lancashire, England^G.¹ He was educated at H.M.S. Conway, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Indian Navy.¹ He fought in the Boxer Rebellion.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.) in 1920.¹ He fought in the Kuki operations in 1920.¹ He retired from the military in 1935.¹
     He had three sons.¹

     Elizabeth Frances Taylor is the daughter of Robert Cuninghame Taylor.¹ She married Thomas Starkie Bence, son of Henry Bence Sparrow Bence and Elizabeth Susanna Starkie, on 16 April 1857.¹ She married George Alexander Warburton in September 1865.¹
