Reverend Arthur Venables Calveley Hordern1 
He fought in the Boer War.1 He was Chaplain to Forces in 1910.1 He fought in the First World War between 1915 and 1918, with the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, where he was mentioned in despatches six times.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1916.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1919.1 He held the office of Rural Dean of Hodnet between 1920 and 1930.1 He was the Vicar between 1930 and 1939 at Stansted, Essex, EnglandG.1
He had five sons (one killed in action 1942) and two daughters.1
