     He was given the name of Charles Watson at birth.2 He was appointed Fellow, Royal College of Surgeons (F.R.C.S.) in 1902.2 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)2 In 1920 his name was legally changed to Charles Gordon-Watson by Deed Poll.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.)2 He gained the rank of Major-General in 1943.2
