     John Freer married Jane Lane, daughter of Thomas Lane and Anne Sayer, on 29 January 1771.¹

     Lady Margaret Brodie Stewart was born in 1810.¹ She married Sir John Frederick William Herschel, 1st Bt. on 3 March 1829. She died in 1864.¹
     From 3 March 1829, her married name became Herschel.

     Isabella Herschel was born in 1831.¹ She was the daughter of Sir John Frederick William Herschel, 1st Bt. and Lady Margaret Brodie Stewart.¹ She died in 1893, unmarried.¹

     Sir William James Herschel, 2nd Bt. was born in 1833.¹ He was the son of Sir John Frederick William Herschel, 1st Bt. and Lady Margaret Brodie Stewart.¹ He married Emma Hardcastle.¹ He died in 1917.¹
     He gained the title of 2nd Baronet Herschel. He was He discovered fingerprinting for use in forensics.¹
