     John Caulfeild was born on 2 January 1792.¹ He was the son of Colonel William Caulfeild and Lucy Sanderson.² He married Anne Lovell Bury, daughter of James Bury, on 17 May 1824.¹ He died on 3 February 1865 at age 73.¹
     He held the office of High Sheriff of County Roscommon in 1826.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.¹ He lived at Bloomfield, County Westmeath, Ireland^G.¹
