     He was Commissary of the Archbishopric of St. Andrews.¹ He lived at Wormiston, Fife, Scotland^G.¹

     John Lindsay was the son of Patrick Lindsay.¹ He married Elspeth Lentron, daughter of David Lentron of Newgrange.¹ He died in February 1666.¹
     He lived at Wormiston, Fife, Scotland^G.¹

     Elspeth Lentron is the daughter of David Lentron of Newgrange.¹ She married John Lindsay, son of Patrick Lindsay.¹
     She lived at Pitcaple, Aberdeenshire, Scotland^G. Her married name became Lindsay.¹

     Patrick Lindsay, 3rd of Wormiston was the son of John Lindsay and Elspeth Lentron.¹ He married Catherine Bethune, daughter of Robert Bethune, 1st of Bandon and Marion Inglis, on 18 June 1657.²
     He lived at Wormiston, Fife, Scotland^G.¹ He fought in the Battle of Worcester in 1651, where he was captured by Crowmell’s troops.¹

     Catherine Bethune was born circa 1640.² She was the daughter of Robert Bethune, 1st of Bandon and Marion Inglis.^1,2 She married Patrick Lindsay, 3rd of Wormiston, son of John Lindsay and Elspeth Lentron, on 18 June 1657.² She died on 6 March 1730.²
     She lived at Bandon, Fife, Scotland^G. From 18 June 1657, her married name became Lindsay.²

     John Lindsay was the son of Patrick Lindsay, 3rd of Wormiston and Catherine Bethune.¹ He married Margaret Haliburton, daughter of George Haliburton.¹ He died on 23 September 1715.¹
     He was a practising Advocate.¹ In 1699 he was served heir to Pyotston.¹ He lived at Wormiston, Fife, Scotland^G.¹

     William Lindsay was the son of Patrick Lindsay, 3rd of Wormiston and Catherine Bethune.¹
     He was ancestor of the Lindsays of Feddinch.¹

     Margaret Haliburton was the daughter of George Haliburton.¹ She married John Lindsay, son of Patrick Lindsay, 3rd of Wormiston and Catherine Bethune.¹
     Her married name became Lindsay.¹

     George Haliburton lived at Denhead, Fife, Scotland^G.¹ He held the office of Bishop of Aberdeen.¹

     Patrick Lindsay was the son of John Lindsay and Margaret Haliburton.¹ He died in 1745 at Carlisle, Cumberland, England^G, executed.¹
     He was ancestor of the Lindsays of Leith.¹
