     Captain Lord Sir Claud Nigel Hamilton was born on 10 November 1889.¹ He was the son of James Hamilton, 2nd Duke of Abercorn and Lady Mary Anna Curzon. He married Violet Ruby Ashton, daughter of James Ashton, on 11 July 1933.¹ He died on 22 August 1975 at age 85, without issue.¹
     He was educated at Wellington College, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1914.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Grenadier Guards.¹ He fought in the First World War in 1918, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He held the office of Equerry-in-Ordinary to HRH The Prince of Wales in 1919.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1920.¹ He held the office of Deputy Master of His Majesty’s Household in 1921.¹ He held the office of Extra Equerry between 1922 and 1924.¹ He held the office of Equerry-in-Ordinary to HM King George V between 1924 and 1936.¹ He held the office of Comptroller, Treasurer and Extra Equerry to Queen Mary between 1936 and 1953.¹ He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1942.¹ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Royal Victorian Order (G.C.V.O.) in 1949.¹ He held the office of Extra Equerry to HM Queen Elizabeth II between 1953 and 1975.¹

     Violet Ruby Ashton was the daughter of James Ashton. She married, firstly, Lt.-Cdr. Keith William Newall before 1923.¹ She married, secondly, Captain Lord Sir Claud Nigel Hamilton, son of James Hamilton, 2nd Duke of Abercorn and Lady Mary Anna Curzon, on 11 July 1933.¹ She died in 1986.²
     From before 1923, her married name became Newall.² Her married name became Hamilton.

     John Ellard Gore was born on 1 June 1845.¹ He was the son of Venerable John Ribton Gore and Frances Brabazon Ellard.¹ He died on 6 July 1910 at age 65, unmarried.¹
     He was a civil engineer.¹ He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.²
     

     James Ashton lived at London, England^G.¹

     Lady Alexandra Phyllis Hamilton was born on 23 January 1876.¹ She was the daughter of James Hamilton, 2nd Duke of Abercorn and Lady Mary Anna Curzon. She was baptised in 1876 with HRH Princess Alexandra of Wales as her sponsor.¹ She died on 10 October 1918 at age 42, lost at sea, unmarried.¹

     Captain Lord Claud David Hamilton was born on 13 February 1907.¹ He was the son of James Albert Edward Hamilton, 3rd Duke of Abercorn and Lady Rosalind Cecilia Caroline Bingham.¹ He married Genesta Mary Heath, daughter of Cuthbert Eden Heath and Sarah Caroline Gore Gambier, on 21 February 1946.¹ He died on 15 February 1968 at age 61, without issue.¹
     He was educated at Chapel, Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1929 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1930.¹ He was a barrister.¹ He gained the rank of Captain between 1939 and 1945 in the Irish Guards.¹

     Genesta Mary Heath was born in 1899.² She was the daughter of Cuthbert Eden Heath and Sarah Caroline Gore Gambier.^1,3 She married, firstly, Arthur McNeill Farquhar, son of Admiral Arthur Murray Farquhar and Helen Eva McNeil, on 16 December 1919.⁴ She and Arthur McNeill Farquhar were divorced in 1924.⁴ She married, secondly, Ernest Caswell Long in 1924.⁵ She married, thirdly, Captain Lord Claud David Hamilton, son of James Albert Edward Hamilton, 3rd Duke of Abercorn and Lady Rosalind Cecilia Caroline Bingham, on 21 February 1946.¹ She died in 1990.²
     From 16 December 1919, her married name became Farquhar.⁴ From 1924, her married name became Long.¹ Her married name became Hamilton.

     Cuthbert Eden Heath was born in 1859.² He was the son of Vice-Admiral Sir Leopold George Heath and Mary Emma Marsh.² He married Sarah Caroline Gore Gambier, daughter of Reverend Charles Gore Gambier and Elizabeth Oakeley Reid.² He died in 1939.²
     He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)¹ He lived at Anstie Grange, Holmwood, Surrey, England^G.¹

     George Anthony Ellard Gore was born on 15 December 1846.¹ He was the son of Venerable John Ribton Gore and Frances Brabazon Ellard.¹ He married Bessie Frances Coulthard, daughter of Reverend T. Coulthard, on 27 May 1905.¹ He died on 6 March 1915 at age 68, without issue.¹
     He gained the rank of Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Marines.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Devon.¹

     Bessie Frances Coulthard was the daughter of Reverend T. Coulthard.¹ She married, firstly, Richard Cory before 1905.¹ She married, secondly, George Anthony Ellard Gore, son of Venerable John Ribton Gore and Frances Brabazon Ellard, on 27 May 1905.¹ She died on 25 September 1924.¹
     From before 1905, her married name became Cory.¹ From 27 May 1905, her married name became Gore.¹
