     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Devon in 1433.¹ He lived at Cockington, England^G.¹

     Christiana Orchard is the daughter of William Orchard.² She married, secondly, Walter Portman.² She married, firstly, Sir Philip Cary, son of Sir Robert Cary and Jane Hanksford, in 1422.¹
     Her married name became Portman.² Her married name became Cary.

     Sir William Cary was born on 12 August 1437.³ He was the son of Sir Philip Cary and Christiana Orchard.³ He married, firstly, Elizabeth Powlett, daughter of Sir William Powlett.¹ He married, secondly, Alice Fulford, daughter of Sir Baldwin Fulford.³ He died on 6 May 1471 at age 33, beheaded after the Battle of Tewkesbury.³
     He lived at Cockington, Devon, England^G.³

     Sir William Powlett lived at Heanton St. George, Somerset, England^G.¹ He was also known as William Paulet.²

     Elizabeth Powlett is the daughter of Sir William Powlett.² She married Sir William Cary, son of Sir Philip Cary and Christiana Orchard.¹

     Robert Cary was born in 1457.¹ He was the son of Sir William Cary and Elizabeth Powlett.² He married, thirdly, Margaret Fulkeram, daughter of William Fulkeram, circa 1500.¹ He died on 15 June 1540.¹

     William Fulkeram lived at Dartmouth, Devon, England^G.¹

     Margaret Fulkeram was the daughter of William Fulkeram.² She married Robert Cary, son of Sir William Cary and Elizabeth Powlett, circa 1500.¹ She died in 1547.¹
     From circa 1500, her married name became Cary.

     Robert Cary was born in 1513.¹ He was the son of Robert Cary and Margaret Fulkeram.² He married Margaret Milliton, daughter of John Milliton.¹ He died on 1 April 1586.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Barnstaple in 1553.¹ He lived at Clovelly, Devon, England^G.¹
