     Mary Pettie was the daughter of John Pettie and Elizabeth Snape.¹ She married James Ley, 1st Earl of Marlborough, son of Henry Ley and Dyonisia de St. Mayne, before 1593.¹ She was buried at Westbury, Wiltshire, England^G.¹
     From before 1593, her married name became Ley.¹

     Mary Pierson was born circa 1578.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas Pierson.¹ She married, firstly, Sir William Bowyer, son of Francis Bowyer and Elizabeth Tillesworth.¹ She married, secondly, James Ley, 1st Earl of Marlborough, son of Henry Ley and Dyonisia de St. Mayne, circa 13 February 1617/18.¹ She died circa September 1618.¹ She was buried on 5 October 1618 at Westbury, Wiltshire, England^G.¹
     Her married name became Bowyer.¹ From circa 13 February 1617/18, her married name became Ley.¹
