     Elizabeth Henderson is the daughter of Edward Henderson and Helen Swinton.² She married John Nicolson of Lasswade, son of James Nicolson and Janet Swinton, before 1591.¹
     From before 1591, her married name became Nicolson.¹

     Sir John Nicolson of Lasswade, 1st Bt. was the son of John Nicolson of Lasswade and Elizabeth Henderson.² He married Magdalen Preston, daughter of David Preston of Craigmillar.¹ He died in May 1651.¹
     He was created 1st Baronet Nicolson of Lasswade, Midlothian [Nova Scotia] on 27 July 1629, with special remainder to all heirs male.¹

     David Preston of Craigmillar was the son of Simon Preston of Craigmillar and Janet Bethune.² He married Elizabeth Lauder, daughter of Robert Lauder of the Bass and Elizabeth Hay, in August 1558.² He died in March 1593.²

     Magdalen Preston is the daughter of David Preston of Craigmillar.² She married Sir John Nicolson of Lasswade, 1st Bt., son of John Nicolson of Lasswade and Elizabeth Henderson.¹

     John Nicolson was the son of Sir John Nicolson of Lasswade, 1st Bt. and Magdalen Preston.² He died in 1648.¹
     He lived at Pilton, Scotland^G.¹

     Sir John Nicolson of Lasswade, 2nd Bt. was the son of John Nicolson.² He married Elizabeth Dick, daughter of Sir William Dick of Braid.¹ He died in 1680.³
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Nicolson, of Lasswade, Midlothian [N.S., 1629] in May 1651.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for the County of Edinburgh [Scotland] between 1672 and 1674.¹

     Elizabeth Dick is the daughter of Sir William Dick of Braid.² She married Sir John Nicolson of Lasswade, 2nd Bt., son of John Nicolson.¹
     Her married name became Nicolson.¹

     Sir John Nicolson of Lasswade, 3rd Bt. was the son of Sir John Nicolson of Lasswade, 2nd Bt. and Elizabeth Dick.² He died in May 1681, without issue.¹
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Nicolson, of Lasswade, Midlothian [N.S., 1629].¹

     Sir William Nicolson of Lasswade, 4th Bt. was the son of Sir John Nicolson of Lasswade, 2nd Bt. and Elizabeth Dick.² He married Elizabeth Trotter, daughter of John Trotter, 2nd of Mortonhall and Janet Morrison.¹ He died circa January 1687.¹ He was buried on 29 January 1687.¹
     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Nicolson, of Lasswade, Midlothian [N.S., 1629] in May 1681.¹
