York [E., 1662] in February 1686/87.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Yorkshire from 1689 to 1690.1 On 7 May 1689 he was attainted in the Irish Parliament.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for St. Canice [Ireland] between 1692 and 1707.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] on 10 May 1695.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] in June 1702.1 He was created 1st Viscount Castlecomer, co. Kilkenny [Ireland] on 15 March 1706/7.1 He was created 1st Baron Wandesford [Ireland] on 15 March 1706/7.1
