Sir Colin Campbell of Ardkinglass, 1st Bt.1 
He was created 1st Baronet Campbell, of Ardkinglass [Nova Scotia] on 23 March 1679.1 In 1684 he was imprisoned on unfounded suspiion of high treason.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Argyllshire [Scotland] between 1693 and 1702.1
