Horatia Nelson1

Horatia Nelson was born on 29 January 1801 at 23 Piccadilly, London, England.3 She was born illegitimately on 29 October 1800.1 She was the daughter of Admiral Horatio Nelson, 1st and last Viscount Nelson of the Nile and Burnham Thorpe and Emma Lyon.1 She was also reported to have been born on 29 October 1801.4 She was baptised on 13 May 1803 at St. Marylebone Church, Marylebone Road, Marylebone, London, EnglandG.5 She married Reverend Philip Ward on 19 February 1822 at Burnham Westgate Church, Burnham Westgate, Norfolk, England.1,3 She died on 5 March 1881 at age 80 at Pinner, London, England.1,6
She was given the name of Horatia Nelson Thompson at birth a pseudonym adopted by her father when writing to Lady Hamilton.1 On 30 September 1806 her name was legally changed to Horatia Nelson by Royal Licence.1 From 19 February 1822, her married name became Ward.1
