     Lt.-Col. Cecil Townley Mitford-Slade was born on 19 April 1903.2 He was the son of Colonel William Kenyon Mitford and Cicely Maud Slade.3 He married Phyllis Buxton, daughter of Edward Gurney Buxton and Laura Gurney, on 22 April 1931 at St. Peter’s Church, Eaton square, London, England.1,2 He died on 13 August 1986 at age 83.3,2
     He was given the name of Cecil Townley Mitford at birth.3 In 1941 his name was legally changed to Cecil Townley Mitford-Slade by Deed Poll.3 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset in 1968.1

     Major Anthony Cecil Wyndham Mitford-Slade was born on 13 March 1932.1 He is the son of Lt.-Col. Cecil Townley Mitford-Slade and Phyllis Buxton.2 He married Mary Dawn Rogers, daughter of Stanley Clive Rogers, on 9 May 1959.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was commissioned in 1952, in the service of the Somerset Light Infantry.2 He fought in the Malayan Campaign between 1953 and 1955, where he was mentioned in despatches.2 He retired from the military in 1983, with the rank of Major.2 He lived in 2003 at Montys Court, Norton Fitzwarren, Taunton, Somerset, EnglandG.1
