He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Burke, of Marble Hill, co. Galway [I., 1797] on 9 December 1875.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in 1879 in the 20th Hussars.2

Galway [I., 1797] on 16 August 1880.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1881 in the 4th Battalion, Connaught Rangers.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Galway in 1883.1
