     Sir Thomas Burdett, 1st Bt. was born on 3 August 1585.¹ He was the son of Robert Burdett and Mary Wilson.¹ He married Jane Francis, daughter of William Francis and Elizabeth Francis, in 1602.¹ He died circa 1647.¹ He was buried at Repton, Derbyshire, England^G.¹ His will was proven (by probate) on 22 May 1647.¹
     He matriculated at Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, on 6 May 1603.¹ He held the office of Sheriff of Derbyshire from 1610 to 1611.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Burdett, of Bramcott, co. Warwick [England] on 25 February 1618/19.¹

     Jane Francis was the daughter of William Francis and Elizabeth Francis.¹ She married Sir Thomas Burdett, 1st Bt., son of Robert Burdett and Mary Wilson, in 1602.¹ She died in 1637.² She was buried at Repton, Derbyshire, England^G.¹
     She provided an asylum at Bramcote to Archbishop Sheldon during the exlie of King Charles II.¹ From 1602, her married name became Burdett.¹

     William Francis lived at Foremark, Derbyshire, England^G.¹

     Elizabeth Francis is the daughter of William Francis.¹

     Sir Francis Burdett, 2nd Bt. was born on 10 September 1608.¹ He was the son of Sir Thomas Burdett, 1st Bt. and Jane Francis.¹ He married Elizabeth Walter, daughter of Sir John Walter and Margaret Offley, in 1635.¹ He died on 30 December 1696 at age 88.¹ His will was proven (by probate) on 8 February 1697.¹ He was buried at Foremark, Repton, Derbyshire, England^G.¹
     He matriculated at Lincoln College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, on 31 October 1628.¹ He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1637 entitled to practise as a Barrister.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Burdett, of Bramcott, co. Warwick [E., 1619] circa 1647.¹ He held the office of Sheriff of Derbyshire from 1649 to 1650.¹
