     Frances Alice Lingard was the daughter of John Thomas Lingard and Charity Ann Roberts.^1,2 She married Lt.-Col. William Alexander Macdonald Bruce, son of Colonel Elliott Armstrong Bruce and Mary Rebecca Dawson, on 8 December 1892.¹ She died on 24 September 1933.¹
     From 8 December 1892, her married name became Bruce.¹

     Mary Ellen (?) married, firstly, Dr. William T. St. Stephens before 1935.¹ She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. William Alexander Macdonald Bruce, son of Colonel Elliott Armstrong Bruce and Mary Rebecca Dawson, on 19 January 1935.¹ She died in 1956.¹
     From before 1935, her married name became St. Stephens.¹ From 19 January 1935, her married name became Bruce.¹

     Major John Elliott Lidderdale Bruce was born on 10 January 1870.¹ He was the son of Colonel Elliott Armstrong Bruce and Mary Rebecca Dawson.¹ He married Charlotte Mabel Johnstone, daughter of T. J. G. Johnstone, on 12 September 1900.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Artillery.¹ He was commanding officer of the 26th Jacob’s Mountain Battalion.¹

     T. J. G. Johnstone was in the Ceylon Civil Service.¹

     Charlotte Mabel Johnstone is the daughter of T. J. G. Johnstone.¹ She married, firstly, Major John Elliott Lidderdale Bruce, son of Colonel Elliott Armstrong Bruce and Mary Rebecca Dawson, on 12 September 1900.¹ She married, secondly, Ernest Neele in 1920.¹
     From 12 September 1900, her married name became Bruce.¹ From 1920, her married name became Neele.¹

     Brigadier John Charles Douglas Bruce was born on 2 August 1902.¹ He was the son of Major John Elliott Lidderdale Bruce and Charlotte Mabel Johnstone.¹ He married Dorothy Barbara Dundas, daughter of Robert Thomas Dundas, on 12 September 1934.¹ He died on 10 February 1984 at age 81.²
     He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Somerset Light Infantry.¹ He gained the rank of Brigadier in the Gurkha Rifles.¹

     Robert Thomas Dundas was appointed Companion, Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.)¹ He was with the Indian Police.¹

     Dorothy Barbara Dundas was born on 14 August 1903.² She was the daughter of Robert Thomas Dundas.¹ She married Brigadier John Charles Douglas Bruce, son of Major John Elliott Lidderdale Bruce and Charlotte Mabel Johnstone, on 12 September 1934.¹ She died on 29 December 1995 at age 92.²
     From 12 September 1934, her married name became Bruce.

     Henry Malcolm Bruce was born on 28 February 1904.¹ He was the son of Major John Elliott Lidderdale Bruce and Charlotte Mabel Johnstone.¹ He died on 15 November 1954 at age 50.¹
