     Mary Mead was the daughter of Dr. Robert Mead.² She married Sir Samuel Hannay of Mochrum and of Kirkdale, 3rd Bt., son of William Hannay of Kirkdale and Margaret Johnston, in 1768.¹ She died before March 1800.¹ She died intestate and her estate was administered in March 1800.¹
     From 1768, her married name became Hannay.¹

     Sir Samuel Hannay of Mochrum and of Kirkdale, 4th Bt. was born on 12 August 1772.¹ He was the son of Sir Samuel Hannay of Mochrum and of Kirkdale, 3rd Bt. and Mary Mead.¹ He died on 1 January 1842 at age 69 at Vienna, Austria^G, unmarried.¹
     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Hannay, of Mochrum, co. Kirkcudbright [N.S., 1630] on 11 December 1790.¹ He was an official for the Emperor of Austria at Vienna, Austria^G.¹
     On his death, his baronetcy became dormant.¹

     Julian Sebastian Bell was born on 6 May 1962.¹ He is the son of Alfred Edwin Bell and Eynor Mary Bruce.¹ He married Justin Chappell Day Mullen, daughter of Arthur Mullen, on 15 April 1989.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from Queen’s College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) (Hons.)¹ He was an investment banker with SG Warburg between 1984 and 1992.¹ He was an investment banker with Morgan Stanley between 1992 and 1996.¹ He was an investment banker with Credit Suisse First Boston
between 1996 and 1999.¹ He was an investment banker with Société Générale in 2000.¹ He lived in 2003 at 11 Napier Road, London, England^G.¹

     Justin Chappell Day Mullen is the daughter of Arthur Mullen.¹ She married Julian Sebastian Bell, son of Alfred Edwin Bell and Eynor Mary Bruce, on 15 April 1989.¹
     From 15 April 1989, her married name became Bell.

     Tatiana Victoria Bell was born on 21 January 1995.¹ She is the daughter of Julian Sebastian Bell and Justin Chappell Day Mullen.¹

     Theodore Richard John Bell was born on 19 May 1972.¹ He is the son of Alfred Edwin Bell and Eynor Mary Bruce.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹

     Stanley Melbourne Bruce, 1st and last Viscount Bruce of Melbourne was born on 15 April 1883.¹ He was the son of John Monroe Bruce.¹ He married Ethel Dunlop Anderson, daughter of Andrew George Anderson, in 1913.¹ He died on 25 August 1967 at age 84, without issue.¹
     He was educated at Melbourne Grammar School, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia^G.¹ He was educated in 1904 at Trinity Hall, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)³ He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1907.³ He gained the rank of Captain in the Worcestershire Regiment and Royal Fusiliers.³ He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1917, where he was mentioned in despatches and wounded twice.³ He was awarded the Croix de Guerre avec palme.³ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) [Australia] between 1918 and 1929, for Flinders.³ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1923.³ He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1923.³ He held the office of Minister for External Affairs [Australia] between 1923 and 1929.³ He held the office of Prime Minister of Australia between 1923 and 1929.³ He was appointed Companion of Honour (C.H.) in 1927.^1,3 He held the office of Australian Minister for London between 1932 and 1933.³ He held the office of High Commissioner for Australia in London between 1933 and 1945.³ He was created 1st Viscount Bruce of Melbourne, of Westminster Gardens, in the City of Westminster [U.K.] on 18 March 1947.¹ He held the office of Chancellor of the Australian National University between 1951 and 1961.³
     On his death, his viscountancy became extinct.¹ He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.⁴
     

     Alastair Lavallette Eric Mary Bruce was born on 4 May 1898.¹ He was the son of Eric Henry Stuart Bruce and Helen Florence Mary Auxilium King.¹ He married Winifred Moultrie Wren, daughter of J. A. E. Wren, on 26 August 1923.¹ He died in 1950.¹
     He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the First World War, in the London Scottish and Royal Air Force.¹

     J. A. E. Wren lived at Southsea, Hampshire, England^G.¹
